FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -- 37 people walked across Ivy Tech's stage, Friday night to collect their job readiness certificates.
Through the Blue Jacket Program, they had the opportunity to participate in 60 hours of career development and life skill training.
The group are ex-offenders who refused to pass up a second chance.
Tony Hudson, Blue Jacket Executive Director says, “Our clients are showing to employers and their families and the community that they're serious about a second chance. so today means a great deal to them because they graduated from 30 hours of very intensive vigorous job training, showed up on time, business professional and assignments complete and they're saying hey we put the money where the mouth is.”
The group had to meet stringent guidelines to graduate.
