ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Police are investigating after a body is found in southwest Allen County Thursday morning.

According to The Allen County Sheriff's Department around eight this morning a train conductor saw, what he thought, was a body near the railroad tracks in the area of Illinois and Hillegas roads.

When officers arrived they confirmed it was the body of a Caucasian man. At this time, police aren't sure how the man died but they aren't yet calling his death suspicious.

"Preliminary stages, when I spoke with the detectives, so far they're, like I said, they're not expecting that this is going to be suspicious, but we're still doing the investigation," said Cpl. Jeremy Tinkel, Allen County Sheriff's Department.

There is a car that has been sitting in the area for several days. But Tinkel says police are not sure if there is any connection between that vehicle and the man, because they're waiting to get positive identification on the body.
