FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Kesi, the giraffe celebrated her first birthday at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo on Friday. She is now nine and a half feet tall and weighs 600 pounds.
Zoo officials say she is now old enough to eat on her own and doesn't have to bother her mother as much anymore.
Zoo guests were asked to sign a birthday card for Kesi.
"Kesi still gets playful, especially with her half-sister, Zahra," says zoo keeper Aimee Fannon. Zahra is just seven months older than Kesi, so the two are fast friends.
