INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - More than a dozen college students are at the Statehouse Tuesday letting lawmakers know how important state grants are to students.
In the past two years individual student grants have been cut by 38 percent.
Indiana Tech Student Justin Neff says, “State funding means my ability to go to school. If it wasn't for that state funding, I wouldn't be going to this school. If we can just get our message out to the right people and get it going up the chain, then we can get our message out there.”
Students will get a chance to sit down with state lawmakers who make up the SSACI Committee who oversees state funding for Hoosier college students.
