Columbus Plane Pilot Dies Overnight (VIDEO)

INDIANAPOLIS (www.incnow.tv)- The pilot of the plane that crashed into a house in Columbus, Ind. July 25 has died.

A spokesperson for Wishard Hospital confirmed that Gerald Clayton, 81, died between Friday evening and Saturday morning.

Clayton was traveling in a single-engine plane with another passenger before being taken to the hospital following the crash into a house in Columbus. Both had burn injuries.

Clayton was taking the plane on a test run after he thought he worked out some mechanical issues the day of the crash.

He leaves behind five children.
