FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Defense cuts could reach more than 60 billion dollars if Congress doesn't come to an agreement on the budget by January.
Yesterday, the National Commander of the American Legion, Jim Koutz, visited a post on Hillegas Road to talk about how those cuts could impact veterans. Koutz says he's hopeful President Obama and Congress can come to an agreement that wont balance the budget on the backs of veterans.
Congress wont have long to avoid the automatic defense cuts. Members reconvene after elections.
