Fort Wayne, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Election Day is a little more than a week away and in this final push the democratic candidate for governor, democratic candidates for state offices and candidates from all across Allen County came together in the Summit City Saturday.
"We're closing the gap, we're going to win this," said John Gregg, gubernatorial candidate (D).
Gubernatorial candidate John Gregg was joined by Joe Donnelly, Glenda Ritz and Kevin Boyd, to name a few.
"To come here and see a crowd like this in Fort Wayne tells me people are doing what I've asked, and I've challenged these voters all along to look beyond the party label," said Gregg.
Congressman Joe Donnelly is running against republican Richard Mourdock for a seat in the U.S. Senate. One message he's working to drive home right now is the importance of bipartisanship.
"Mr. Mourdock has had a lot of extreme positions. What I've always tried to do is bring everyone together, democrats, republicans so we can move forward and that's what I'll continue to do," said Congressman Joe Donnelly, U.S. Senate candidate.
In the race for governor John Gregg faces republican Congressman Mike Pence. Right now Gregg's agenda is focusing on his opponent’s track record.
"I want people to look beyond the slogans, realize that he's never passed a bill in 12 years of Congress and I want them to know that we've got a plan,” said Gregg.
Although there were many messages at Saturday’s rally every candidate stressed the importance of getting to the polls no matter who you’re voting for.
