FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Allen County Democratic Party is taking steps to remove one of their own from the ballot.
Paper work was filed Tuesday to remove Tommy Schrader.
Schrader won the primary for the City Council At-Large seat.
A spokesman for the party says they are questioning his residency since he only recently moved back to the Summit City from Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Allen County Democratic Party Spokesperson Kevin Knuth says, “We're asking them to remove him from the ballot...it is the decision the election board will have to make. If they remove him from the ballot the party can then pick a replacement. If not he will be on the ballot in the fall.”
Knuth hopes the election board will rule on the matter within the next ten days.
