Fort Wayne, IN (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- The first licensed Indy-Car driver with diabetes in history shares his story.

Charlie Kimball drives the number-83 car for Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing in the IZOD Indy-Car series.

He also has type one diabetes.

Thursday at Lutheran Hospital, he shared how he is able to manage his disease and live his dream of racing.

Kimball was forced to temporarily quit racing when he was diagnosed, but came back to claim a podium finish in his first race back.

His message to children of all ages is that type-one diabetes, when managed right, will not stop anyone from realizing their dreams.
