FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- As officials investigate the circumstances surrounding the stage collapse, one witness described the scene to Indiana's NewsCenter this weekend.

Abby Fielden of New Haven said five minutes before the incident, an announcer said they were aware of the possibility of severe weather but planned to start the show as scheduled.

Shortly after that, Abby said the skies turned pitch black, winds howled and the stage fell apart.

Abby Fielden/Eyewitness: "Myself and my sisters, we were hysterical, crying... The women in front of us... We actually started praying. We didn't know what to do... It was very scary."

Fielden also said it took her family about 20 minutes to leave the grandstands amid the chaos after the collapse.
