FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The number one issue Fort Wayne Community Schools is facing right now is how to improve your child's learning environment.
Their big question is how to get community support and pay for up to $242-million in maintenance and renovations.
To ease the tax burden, FWCS leaders are considering breaking the projects up into three phases.
Chief Financial Officer Kathy Friend says, “I don't believe that the board has settled on a recommendation yet. They're listening to all of the options and the impact to taxpayers. They want to get community feedback so that they can make a determination and may be able to vote on this on December 12th.”
FWCS has three more scheduled public community meetings over the next two weeks.
-- Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. at Northrop High School, 7001 Coldwater Road
•-- Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at Harrison Hill Elementary School, 355 Cornell Circle
-- Thursday, Nov. 10, at 6:30 p.m. at Snider High School, 4600 Fairlawn Pass
