FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Fort Wayne school district is busy getting ready for its new school year.

All the district's teachers and staff met with administrators and school board members for an orientation meeting at Parkview Field Thursday morning.

The purpose is to get everybody ready for the district's first day of school next Monday.

This is the third year for the district-wide employee meeting. One that Superintendent Doctor Wendy Robinson says is especially important this year.

Robinson says, “I recognize the impact of all this change on the adults. We're doing it for the students. But anytime you have this much change the adults are going to be impacted. So, that's the first thing. The second is to absolutely have everyone aware of the fact that we have faith. We know whatever the challenges are we're going to be successful with out students.”

The event had been held at the Coliseum in years past, but the district saved money by holding it at Parkview Field.
