FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - 13 business owners in Fort Wayne are getting matching funds from the city to upgrade their buildings.
The city's Commercial Facade Grant Program awarded funds ranging from nearly $3,000- 40,000 for things like sidewalks, lighting, landscaping and parking.
In all, the city will kick in $220,000 but included with the private money being spent, the total investment in the community could be close to one million dollars, for businesses ranging from a florist, an automotive center and a restaurant, to a specialty grocery store.
This is the third year for the Commercial Facade Grant Program.
