Fake Cancer Patient Pleaded Guilty

Angola, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Angola woman who faked having cancer and fooled several people to donate thousands of dollars to her cause was back in court Monday.

April Landis pled guilty to Count 1 theft, a Class D Felony for stealing thousands of dollars from Angola community members at a fundraiser she set up.

You may remember that Landis later admitted that she did not have cancer and instead was suffering from a fictitious disorder, defined by a person who believes he or she suffers from an illness they do not have.

Her sentencing is set for October 29th.
