LEESBURG, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – A crash near Tippecanoe Lake claims the life of one Syracuse man.
Kosciusko County police and emergency personnel responded to a 911 call Thursday afternoon just before 5 P.M. near the Tippecanoe Country Club along N. Kalorama Road.
When the responders arrived to the scene, they found that a 2011 Ford pickup truck had left the roadway and struck a tree head-on and was still partially on fire.
The fire was quickly extinguished and the driver was able to be pulled from the wreckage, unfortunately the driver was already dead and was identified as 85-year-old Charles L. White of Syracuse. The Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office says that White died from the blunt force trauma sustained in the crash.
Investigators are still finding it unclear as to why White’s vehicle left the roadway.
The Crash remains under investigation.
