Marion County, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The father of a Huntington woman convicted of selling pain pills has filed a tort claim against the state after his daughter died in prison.

Rachel Wood who had lupus was sent to prison in 2010.

Her family was kept in the dark regarding the severity of her illness only to later find out by the Marion County Coroner that Wood died due to doctor error, because she was over medicated.

Rachel's Father, Claude Wood says, “She is doing fine, she's excellent doing quite well, the next call she was gone.”

Her father says he filed the tort claim to make sure this never happens again.
