FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A father, his two children and their dog safely escaped a Fort Wayne home as it went up in flames Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to a house fire just after noon Saturday at 6115 Hunter Wood Drive in the Jonathon Oaks Neighborhood.
When firefighters arrived flames and smoke were shooting out from the second story home. Captain Henry Willis says it looked like the fire broke out in the garage and burned through to the second floor.
The home received heavy fire and smoke damage throughout the structure along with moderate water damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
