FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- A judge accepted a plea deal of 1.5 years for Denzel Benson who left a disabled client in his van while he went to play basketball.
Benson, a former driver and caretaker at Anthony Wayne Services was charged with neglect of a disable person and he pleaded guilty in January. The 1.5 year sentence was suspended and Benson will be on probation during that time.
In March, Benson left Jerry White, 53, in his parked van during a reported 83 degree day while he played basketball. White suffers from a number of disabilities including epilepsy, blindness, depression, brain atrophy, grand mal seizure and hypertension. He is in a wheel chair and unable to communicate.
