FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – There are a total of 29 homicides in Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2012, and police say only three have been solved.
Police say it's because it takes at least six months to get test results back and move forward with charges.
Our partner in news, The Journal Gazette, reports that this year's homicide rates are above the average, which is 25 homicides.
In two of the homicides in the city, men were killed by police after the suspects refused to put down their weapons, another two were considered self-defense, and at least two are considered to be gang-related.
