FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry is keeping the 311 call center open for extended hours Wednesday evening to handle reports of street flooding and other non-emergency inquiries and service requests.
The City has pumps in use at following intersections to remove stormwater:
*Old Mill Road and Fairfax
*Hartman Road
*Dalevue and Fernwood
*Duck and Barr streets
These pumps were put in place before the storms hit in preparation for the anticipated rains, some as early as yesterday.
The City is currently placing barricades across flooded streets, but drivers should avoid driving through standing water for their safety. Instead, they should use an alternate route around the water.
