FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Synthetic marijuana products are now illegal now that a ban took effect Monday.
The ban was passed and signed into law last week and prohibits the sale and possession of substances like "K2" and "Spice."
Violators could face fines up to $2,500.
But officials say the ban is mostly aimed at having the product pulled from store shelves.
The Fort Wayne ban expires next July, officials anticipate state lawmakers passing a statewide ban before then.
