Foster Parents Face Prison Time After 5-Year-Old's Disturbing Death

MUNCIE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- A husband and wife have been arrested on preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury after a 5-year-old girl was found dead.

Marcus and Charlene Tabb we reportedly the girl's guardians. Police responded to the residence Saturday in reference to a 5-year-old "lying on her back in the kitchen/dining area...unresponsive and not breathing" according to the Muncie Star Press.

The exact cause of death has not yet been determined but the girl had multiple injuries, including sores, markings, cuts and possible fractures, according to court documents.

The Muncie Star Press reports that the victim had open sores and swelling to her hands and references reports that the girl had odd markings on both of her nipples "which appear to have been pinched...by a pair of pliers or another rectangular object".

The Tabbs face a class B felony charge that carries a standard 10-year prison term. Police say they were also the foster parents to five other children.

They are both being help in the Delaware County Jail without bond.
