FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – The clock is ticking for a staple in the Fort Wayne Community.

Officials with Fred Myers Pianos and Clocks say they will be closing up shop after 58 years of family operated service.

The facility is being purchased by a top of the line dress boutique that aims to move in by the end of April.

The Summit City will soon have a hole to fill when this shop, the only of its kind in the area, closes up.

David Myers, owner of the shop, says the economy isn't to blame but more that he is ready for retirement.

The company will maintain the website in order to provide service to previous customers.
