People were tested for radiation exposure at screening centers in Fukushima, Japan.
FUKUSHIMA, Japan (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The operator of the damaged nuclear plant in Fukushima plans to open the main door at reactor two.
The Tokyo Electric Power Company hopes to ventilate contaminated air so workers can go inside to set up equipment for a cooling system.
The system will reduce the risk of a hydrogen explosion.
Workers will only partially open the main double doors to inspect damage.
The earthquake and tsunami on March 11th caused the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant to lose power.
Tepco hopes to bring the reactors to a cold shutdown state by early January of next year.
