RESEARCH (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - New scientific study suggests that your biological clock is competing with your alarm and is causing you to gain weight.

According to researcher Till Roenneberg because of enforced business and social schedules the body’s varying sleep schedules may result in extra weight.

Roenneberg and his colleagues studied data from more than 65,000 people, and found that for each hour of sleep discrepancy between their natural preferences and enforced routine, people are 33 percent more likely to have a higher Body Mass Index. They say it’s the interference with natural waking hours that messes with the body’s metabolism, in turn making us put on weight.

The best thing you can do is try to find jobs that fit with your natural rhythms, you could even try to negotiate with your employer to modify your working hours.
