Grant County Man Arrested with $17,000+ Marijuana Grow Operation

Marion, IN (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – After a month long investigation into illegal narcotics a Grant County man was taken into custody on felony drug charges.

Thursday afternoon police officers executed a search warrant at 61-year-old James Weir’s rural Marion home in the 7800 bock of East County Road 300 South.

During the search officers allegedly found 35 marijuana plants, approximately one pound of processed marijuana, and approximately $2,500 worth of hydroponic growing equipment.

Weir was arrested and charged with two Class D felonies for cultivating marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance.

The confiscated marijuana had an approximate street value of $15,000.
