LIGONIER, IN (Indiana's NewsCenter)--A Ligonier man faces criminal charges after leading police on a short pursuit.

A Noble County police officer attempted to pull over 34-year old Gary Rasler Jr. Friday evening on County Road 900 North.

Police say Rasler's vehicle slowed as if he was pulling over then he accelerated pulling the car onto a dirt road, then fled on foot into a heavily wooded area.

Rasler was later taken into custody.

Police records show that Rasler has a ten year license suspension from a previous arrest.

He has been charged with being a habitual traffic violator and resisting law enforcement..
