House Fire Causes Traffic Headache for Fort Wayne Motorists

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A house fire on Elizabeth Street caused a major traffic headache in Fort Wayne Tuesday morning. Southbound traffic was cleared to use Spy Run and the Elizabeth Street detour.

The fire which began in the attic of the home started just after 6 a.m. near the intersection of North Clinton and Spy Run.

The fire remains under investigation.

One kitten was rescued and turned over to Animal Care and Control.

Elizabeth Street is part of detour for the construction at State and Clinton.

Northbound traffic on Spy Run was able to continue to flow but southbound traffic, heading into town, had to be diverted to State and Wells.

Just after 7 a.m. southbound traffic was cleared to use Spy Run and the Elizabeth Street detour.
