WASHINGTON (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The House voted Thursday afternoon "against" extending unemployment jobless benefits another 90-days.
The vote? 258-154.
The failed measure would have added $12.5 billion to the nation's debt.
An extension enacted this summer expires, December first.
Currently jobless claims are up. But at the same time, they're at a new two-year low.
The Labor Department reports that initial claims for unemployment benefits rose by 2,000 last week to 439,000.
