Huntington Pot Grower Pleads Guilty in Federal Court

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - At the federal court in Fort Wayne, a Huntington man has pleaded guilty in a massive underground pot growing operation.

The Journal Gazette reports that, 35-year-old Shawn Karst pleaded guilty to one count of a two-count federal indictment. That charged him with cultivating marijuana in an underground bunker at his home.

Karst admitted he grew more than 100-pot plants.

More than 40-officers from four police agencies worked on the case.

As part of the plea deal, he did not confess to the charge of possession with intent to distribute them.

He also must forfeit all the growing equipment, a computer, and a handgun.

He'll be sentenced soon.
