Possible Restitution For Police Dog Deaths Or Dismemberment (VIDEO)

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- Indiana lawmakers are considering a bill that would require anyone convicted of killing or permanently disabling a police dog pay the cost of replacing the K-9.

The Senate passed the bill earlier this week and the house passed it last month. Police Departments can spend up to $12,000 to buy and train a dog and some lawmakers say taxpayers should not be on the hook to replace the dogs if they are lost during a criminal act.
