INDIANA (www.incnow.tv) -The Indiana Attorney General's Office has taken action against the Massachusetts-based company that produced the contaminated steroids that were linked to the fungal meningitis deaths of 29 people nationwide, including four in the Hoosier state.
The state's complaint against the New England Compounding Center of Framingham, Massachusetts was filed Friday morning and is seeking to suspend the license of the pharmacy for 90 days.
The company responded and agreed to the suspension.
The Indiana State Health Department has identified 1,502 people who were exposed to the contaminated medications through an epidural or joint injection.
As of Nov. 5, the CDC had indentified 404 cases of fungal meningitis and 29 deaths across 19 states stemming from the tainted steroid injections.
