CULVER CITY, Ca (21Alive) -- Mispronouncing a word can be embarrassing, but imagine doing it on national television.
That's what happened to an Indiana University student, Julian Batts, while participating on "Wheel of Fortune" over the weekend. He had all the letters filled in on a puzzle and merely had to read "Mythological Hero Achilles."
However, the student pronounced the word "Achilles" as "A-chill-is," which caused him to lose the round. The mistake may have even cost him $1 Million.
The video is now going viral.
ABC's Good Morning America interviewed Batts about the mistake.
"It just kind of hit me like a train, and I really didn't know how to react to it," Batts said. "The game continued on and (another contestant from) Texas A&M, she solved it, and it hit me right then and there that it was Achilles."
Despite the blunder, Batts wound up winning the game, which surely makes up for a momentary gaffe.
"It was a dream and it was one of the greatest experiences I've accomplished so far," Batts told GMA.
