Indianapolis (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Indy Car Series has revealed this year's pace car for the Indianapolis 500.

When 33 open wheeled chariots begin to thunder down the front stretch for the green flag, they’ll be led by the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette.

Chevy has equipped the ZR1 model with 638 horsepower, about the same amount of power the Indy racers put out.

This is the 23rd Chevy to serve as an Indy 500 Pace Car and it's the 11th Corvette, both being event records.
