Quick Vote:
Should Indiana keep the death penalty?
INDIANA (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller is asking state lawmakers to take a close look at the cost involved in litigating death penalty cases.
Zoeller says in tough economic times, the cost of trying a capital murder case can be exorbitant. He says the cost of the appeals process also needs to be factored in.
Indiana has executed 20 inmates since it reinstated the death penalty in 1977.
