INDIANAPOLIS, IN (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A Marion County Superior Court Judge says he'll rule next week, on whether Indiana’s new school voucher program is constitutional
The new state law was the subject of a two hour court hearing Thursday morning.
The Indiana State Teachers Association contends the program violates the constitutional requirement to create a "general and uniform" system of public schools.
The union also says the vouchers unconstitutionally send tax dollars to religious institutions.
More than 2,200 vouchers have been awarded to students for the upcoming school year.
