NOBLESVILLE (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Hamilton Superior Court Judge Steven Nation has sentenced former-Secretary of State Charlie White for "violating the trust of the people."
Charlie White was sentenced to 1-year of home detention for each of the six felony convictions, a $1,000 fine, and community service. The sentences will be served concurrently, meaning White will only serve 1-year of home detention.
The judge's decision came from mitigating circumstances: lack of criminal history and family hardships
White was convicted of voter fraud, theft and perjury; by law that means he can no longer serve as Indiana’s top elections official.
White is appealing his conviction.
