FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - An eight year prison term was handed to a Fort Wayne man who admitted to beating a woman to death.

50-year-old Edward Kinslow was originally charged with rape and murder.

But last month, he pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter.

Last May, concerned family and friends called police to check on 46-year-old Darlene Day.

Officers found her beaten body inside a home in the 3400 block of Alexander Street.
