FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Nancy Ruth Clark turned 100 this week, and Saturday she celebrated the big day with nearly 100 friends and family members.

Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry was at Nancy's birthday party to officially declare April 28th Nancy Ruth Clark Day. She also received birthday greetings from Governor Mitch Daniels, President and First Lady Obama, and Willard Scott of the Today Show.

In addition, Nancy was serenaded by a men's singing group from Bethlehem Lutheran Church. A huge bouquet of 100 carnations was also delivered to Kingston Residence Assisted Living where Nancy lives.

Guests were able to congratulate the 100-year-old while enjoying cake, punch, and some of Nancy's favorite snacks.

Nancy says the secret to a long life is being blessed by God. With her son Lee by her side, Nancy says, "I just lived a normal life and tried to be a good person, and that's all you can do. The rest is up to Somebody that's higher than we are."
