Local Students Harvest Their Crops for a Large Donation to the Food Bank

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - A special crop gathered by students on Thursday, is heading to the shelves at of a local food bank.

Students from Study Elementary School have worked for months, cultivating their crops and learning about the planting and growing process, as well as how to divvy up their spoils.

They've grown everything from tomatoes, corn and bean, to melons and gourds.

And now, the kids will give about 100-pounds of what they've grown to the Community Harvest Food Bank, which is always grateful to get fresh produce for its clients.
