INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Less than two days after his horrific injury in the NCAA Regional Final, Louisville sophomore Kevin Ware is already on the road to recovery.

At around noon Tuesday, Ware tweeted "Back to my brothers I go." with a picture of him apparently leaving his hospital room on crutches.

He underwent surgery for that compound fracture at Methodist Hospital Sunday night. Teammates and coaches paid him a visit Monday with regional trophy and championship souvenirs in tow. Ware was in high enough spirits to get up on crutches.

His mother, Lisa Junior, says she’s proud of her son and positive he’ll make a full recovery. Ware’s doctors say the sophomore faces a year of physical rehabilitation. Coach Rick Pitino told reporters Ware isn’t in any pain, and that he’ll join his teammates Wednesday in Louisville.

Ware will travel with his team to Atlanta this weekend for the Final Four.
