FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- It's Love Your Pet Day and for a Fort Wayne family they are loving on a pet they had thought they had lost forever.

Last week a German shepherd was anonymously left at Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control. The shelters staff was able to identify him, because he had been microchipped, as Charlie the missing dog of the Thompson family.

Heidi Thompson and her 2-year-old daughter went to get Charlie last Friday at the shelter. According to Thompson, her daughter had been very upset when Charlie had gone missing back in August.
