Man Accused of Neglecting Special Needs Man Requests Bench Trial

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - A Fort Wayne man charged with felony neglect of a special needs man has asked for a bench trial.

Denzel Benson was fired from Anthony Wayne Services in March after police say he locked Jerry White, 53, in a van on an 83° day while Benson went to play basketball.

Benson's request for a bench trial, rather than a jury trial, means Allen County Judge Wendy Davis will render a verdict in the case.
