Man Convicted In Home Invasion & Sexual Assalt

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- A DeKalb County Jury deliberated for under 2 hours and found Michael Stafford, 34, guilty for the home invasion and sexual assault of a woman and her child.

Stafford was convicted of five felony counts Wednesday afternoon after a 3-day trial. The charges included criminal deviate conduct, kidnapping and robbery with a deadly weapon.

Police say Stafford forced his way into a woman's home in July 2009, tied her and her child up and assaulted the woman.

Sentencing is set for March 22.
