Stabbing Victim Becomes City's Latest Homicide

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The stabbed victim from an early morning dispute passed away over the weekend.

23-year-old Eric Eugene Robinson was stabbed during an altercation on September 7th in the 2100 block of St. Mary’s avenue in Fort Wayne.

Robinson is the 15th homicide victim in Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2011. The incident remains under investigation.

Robinson was stabbed outside the "North Highlands" apartment building in the 2100 block of Saint Mary's Avenue around five o'clock Wednesday morning.

Officers say the fight escalated with Robinson being stabbed.

As officers and paramedics arrived on the scene, they located the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Paramedics provided medical attention to Robinson before transporting him to a local hospital in critical condition.
