MARION, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - The community of Marion is now unable to repay a $1 million short-term loan from municipal utilities.
After beginning the year with a $2.3 million reserve, the city ended 2012 with just $44,000.
Mayor Wayne Seybold stated that over-spending was not the cause of the lack of funds and blames the cost of rising health insurance for city employees.
