Mercer County Sheriff Warns Residents Of Scam

MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- In NorthWest, Ohio the Mercer County Sheriff's Department is warning residents of a driveway maintenance scam now operating in a neighboring county.

Police say the scammer approached an elderly victim who agreed to have crushed gravel put in her driveway.

When the crew was finished, they demanded $9,800.

No new crushed gravel was actually put down the crew simply sprayed oil and tar mix and some pea gravel.
