Meth Lab Explodes in Vehicle Near School, Five People Arrested

LARWILL, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – A meth lab explosion near the Whitko Middle School eventually led police to take five suspects into custody.

According to Whitley County officers, a portable meth lab exploded inside the vehicle as the occupants were driving. The explosion caught several of the occupants clothing on fire causing them to throw their cloths into a nearby field, eventually causing the field to catch fire.

The first suspect, identified as 24-year-old Jason Foster Sizemore of Warsaw, was picked-up and transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment, but fled from the emergency room as officers were summoned. Sizemore was eventually located and taken back into custody by Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies at his mother’s residence near the town of Leesburg. Sizemore is being held on a $50,000 bond for charges of dealing methamphetamine, possession of precursors, and visiting a common nuisance.

The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force received a tip Sunday evening about a possible meth lab in Warsaw. Officers located four individuals along with “one-pot” method meth labs and methamphetamine. Officers also located the other alleged suspect from Whitley County, Trever R. Hanlon, 36, Claypool. Also located at the residence was Hanlon’s wife, Marisa Yvonne Hanlon, 39, Claypool, James Douglas Cable, 40, North Webster, and Gary William Golday, 44, Warsaw. All four have been preliminarily charged with manufacturing methamphetamine with Golday also being charged with maintaining a common nuisance.

The Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office has not set bonds on the individuals as of Monday morning.
