LONGMIRE, WA (www.incnow.tv) - The Fort Wayne native that went snowboarding on Washington’s Mount Rainer is now in the hands of rescuers.

Snider High School grad, 20-year-old Thomas Dale, and 21-year-old Derek Tyndall, also from Indiana, spent two nights stranded on the mountain.

They aren't out of the woods yet as it is expected to take several hours for the rescuers to reach a command post.

The two men checked in with authorities Monday morning by cell phone and said they'd made a snow cave overnight and were cold, but in good condition. Based on information the two gave, authorities had a good sense about where they were and that they'd be able to rescue them.
