NUTLEY, NJ, (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The mom charged with child endangerment for allegedly taking her 5-year-old into a tanning booth has pleaded not guilty.
Patricia Krentcil admits she tans at least 20-days a month.
Police were called when the girl showed up to school with a severe sunburn.
It's believed a teacher overheard the girl telling her friend that she went tanning with her mom.
Krentcil says her daughter got the sunburn from playing outside on a warm day.
New Jersey law prohibits anyone under the age of 14 from using a tanning salon.
A mother was arrested for child endangerment after taking her five-year-old daughter to a tanning salon, where the child received severe burns all over her body, authorities say.
The child's kindergarten teacher called authorities after she noticed the painful burns when the girl when to school.
Now her mother, Patricia Krentcil, 44, is facing felony charges for allegedly sneaking her daughter into the tanning booth.
